Binibeca
is on the South-East coast of Menorca approximately 20 minutes
drive from Mahon airport and stretches from Cala Torret in
the east, through Binibeca Nou and onto Binibeca Vell in the
west.
There is a small, sandy beach with a rocky coastline on each side. The
shallow calm waters make this beach popular with families.
To the rear of the beach is a large, shady area, ideal for picnics. The
beach is sheltered when the north wind (Tramontana) is blowing and there
are often yachts at anchor in the bay. The wooden beach bar perched on the
rocks at the southern edge of the sands claims to be the only place in Menorca
where you can drink with your feet in the sea. Sun beds, shades and
pedaloes can be hired. There is a diving school in the cove at Cala
Torret.
The beach offers ample parking to the
rear and public toilet facilities can be found by the beach bar.
One kilometre away from the sandy beach at Binibeca, the Vell is
unique and well worth a visit on your holiday. The village offers a
selection of attractive bars, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and a tea
shop. One can eat in the shady central courtyard, complete with cobbles
and wooden beams. The small shops offer trendy beachware and good quality
t-shirts and have a good selection of souvenirs.
